Nice combination of parts. I've heard good things about that Comp Mutha Thumpr Cam. When do you fire it up? Post a video when you do.

Curiosity is killing me. What happened to the last new engine? Beginners mistake, forgot to tighten down the Timing Chain bolts on the cam, cause the cam to walk and the bolts to rub on the timing cover sending shavings into the oil.

Beginners mistake, forgot to tighten down the Timing Chain bolts on the cam, cause the cam to walk and the bolts to rub on the timing cover sending shavings into the oil. I know that feeling. Did the same thing on my first one as well. Bolts backed out of the timing gear on the cam. The new word in my life then was "locktight". Wasn't just shavings that killed it though, I was doing about 80 mph passing cars when the second of the 3 bolts came out. When it let go...it kind of bent everything.

I've had pretty good luck with 2 sets of gaskets with high temp copper seal between...then again it's metal to metal on the Hudson and doesn't seem to bad...hmmm
